Train Travel
The Moroccan train network primarily covers the northern part of the country, with popular routes such as Marrakech to Casablanca taking about 2 hours and 40 minutes.
First-class tickets cost around 150 Dirhams (make sure to check the ONCF official website for updated prices), while second-class tickets are cheaper.
Both can be booked online via the ONCF website. First-class carriages offer more comfort with reserved seating, fewer passengers, and air-conditioning. There’s also a snack and drink trolley service (refreshments are not included). Major train stations, including those in Fez and Casablanca, have cafes and amenities.
For a modern travel experience, try the Al Boraq shuttle. These double-deck trains travel at 300 kph (186 mph) and offer two classes. Both classes have air-conditioning, luggage areas, ample legroom, electrical outlets, and seats with headrests.
The Al Boraq connects several cities along its route: Casablanca, Rabat, Kenitra, and Tangier. Be sure to arrive at the platform 20 minutes before departure for ticket checks.

Bus Travel
CTM and Supratours are the primary bus companies in Morocco, offering reliable and comfortable services with air-conditioner buses equipped with Wi-Fi on some routes.
Tickets can be purchased online, at stations, or through ticket offices closer to central areas, and it is advisable to buy them a day in advance due to high demand during peak season.
For example, a trip from Marrakech to Essaouira costs about 80 dirhams, and Marrakech to Agadir costs around 110 dirhams, with checked luggage fees around 5-10 MAD, which should be handled 30 minutes before departure.
Both companies provide assigned seating, 15-minute rest stops for refreshments and restroom use, and onboard snack and drink services, making them a popular choice for travel to various destinations. For more updated prices, visit CTM’s official website.

Petit and Grand Taxis in Morocco
Petit Taxis
Petit Taxis are perfect for short trips within cities, such as from airports or train stations to hotels. These taxis operate within city limits and are smaller cars painted in designated colors for each city; for example, they are red in Casablanca and Fes, blue in Rabat, and yellow in Marrakech.
They accommodate a maximum of three passengers plus the driver. The taxi driver is obligated to use the meter (Unless the price is fixed in a few cities). That’s why you have to make sure that the meter is on.
Grand Taxis
For longer journeys, Grand Taxis are used for travel between cities and towns, following fixed routes to specific destinations and operating from designated stations. These taxis are usually white minivans with up to seven seats.
Short trips in Grand Taxis cost around 15-30 MAD on average, while longer trips (around 100 km) cost about 50-100 MAD.
Grand Taxis can be crowded, but extra seats can be purchased for more space, though this is more expensive. There are two types of Grand Taxi services: shared rides with fixed prices that wait until all six seats are full, and personalized rides (Corsa) where prices are negotiated directly with the driver.
